Bob was a kind and witty man who was loved by so many. He loved his dog, Tucker, playing cards with his family, watching old Westerns, and being known as "Bob Troyer from Canton, Ohio". He was strong willed and stubborn as hell, but those traits defined Bob.
Bob was born in Canton, OH on December 8, 1947. He was raised in Ohio by his parents, Martha Jean and James Herbert Troyer. Bob was surrounded by women his whole life, including his sisters, Carole, Cathy, Linda, and Sharyn.
On June 10, 1967, he married his loving wife, Mary. They were together for 55 years. Together they raised their two daughters, Tiffany and Tammy in Coral Springs, FL and made their way to Newnan, GA where they settled into their home of 34 years where he continued to be an Operating Engineer at F&S Mechanical and became "Backhoe Bob".
In 1994, he became a grandfather and was forever known as "Papa Bob" (although he would have preferred Grandfather Troyer). He loved spending time with his six grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, Dorothy; and his sister, Cathy Payne. He is also preceded in death by his niece and nephew, Tracie and Jack Wright.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary; and his two children, Tiffany (Ed) and Tammy (Jimmy); his six grandchildren who loved their Papa Bob dearly, Lauren (Luke), Madison (Blake), James, Haley, Molly, and Brooks. Bob is also survived by his three sisters, Carole (Gary), Linda, and Sharyn; many nieces and nephews; as well as his best friend; and companion dog, Tucker.
Bob will be fondly remembered by family and friends and forever in our hearts. In lieu of a funeral, we will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Bob on July 15, 2023 in Tyrone, GA. More details to be announced at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the American Cancer Society, in his honor.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.carmichaelhemperleypeachtree.com for the Troyer family.
