

Ruth Hazel (Burt) Carver, of East Point, GA passed away on Thursday December 11,2025 at the age of 97. She was born January 1, 1928, in Marion County Mississippi to the late Mary Elizabeth Evans Burt and William Morrison Burt, and grew up in the Bunker Hill Community. She was a graduate of Bunker Hill School.
Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She lived a Christian life, from reading her bible daily to praying for family and friends. Ruth loved her daily walks around the neighborhood. She would sit on the porch and wave at others walking by. If you needed anything, she was always just a phone call away. She loved giving rides to those who could not drive. She would take people to the Doctor or grocery store. She loved helping others.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 43 years, Max M. Carver; sister, Elizabeth “Merlene” Smith; brother, Winfred Burt; and granddaughter, Keely Carver.
Two sons and one daughter survive Ruth, Kim Carver (Debbie) of Milledgeville, GA, Alan Carver of East Point, GA and Merrie Cagle of Milledgeville, GA. Survivors also include her two grandsons, Kyle Carver (Cyndall) Gainesville FL and Seth Cagle (Chloe) of Lula, GA; three great- grandchildren, Bailey Doring, Stetson Carver and Rory Carver, all of Gainesville FL.; two brothers, Davis Burt, Silver Creek MS and Tom Burt of Tryon, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church in East Point, GA. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment Services will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in College Park, GA where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved late husband, Max.
