Ruth Ann Hart Kerr

Ruth Ann Williams Hart-Kerr left this earth on April 24, 2017 due to complications from surgery and Alzheimer’s . She was born on April 4, 1949 in Danville, IL to Ruth Boyd Williams and Curtis Eugene Williams. She spent her childhood in Tilton, IL attending Danville area schools and graduating from Atlanta Christian College. She later married Robert Hart and spent her years with Bob in the ministry and raising their children. He preceded her in death.

Ruth Ann married Jody Kerr in 2002 and lived a happy life in Atlanta, GA where she taught Pre-K for many years. She and Jody also were very active in the church and her faith in God was awe-inspiring.

Her children are Sherry (Todd) Damilano, Westville, IL, Karen (Jason) Clark, Greenup, IL , Robby Hart, Los Angeles, CA. , and Lindsay Tyner, Conyers, GA. She was the loving “Grandma Roo” to Cece Damilano, Sabrina Clark, Daniel Clark, Mary Kate Tyner and Nora Tyner. Her family includes a brother, Larry Williams a sister, Myrlie Williams (Sam) Milton and many loving nieces and nephews. She was so special to all of them.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at United Church of Tilton’s Okie Hall, 520 W. 5th St., Tilton, IL 61833. There will also be a Celebration of Life at Tri-Cities Church, 2619 Ben Hill Road, East Point, GA 30344 on Saturday, May 20th from 2:00 (Dress code: casual).
