

James Steven Thompson, born February 20, 1950 at Crawford W. Long Hospital in Atlanta, passed May 2, 2016 after having a major stroke on April 28, 2016 at the age of 66. Steve enjoyed scuba diving, NASCAR, and “fixing” things.
He is survived by his wife, Martha (Marti) Thompson; father, Freeman Thompson; mother-in-law, Millie Sisson; son, Steven and his wife, Alisha Thompson; grandson, Josh and his wife, Nicole Thompson; 2 great grandsons, Cason and Paxton Thompson; granddaughter, Sydnee Thompson and Tate; sister, Vicki and her husband, Ovid Babb; niece, Crissy and her husband, Joey Lonsdale; nephew, Shawn Brown; daughter, Amy Robertson and grandson, Jonathan; aunts, Betty and her husband, John Griffin and Faye Helms; sisters-in-law, P.J. and her husband, Dr. Frank Prout, and Linda Kessman; brother-in-law, Lannie Pruiett and his family; cousin Lamar and his wife, Dianne Fuqua: and other beloved family members.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 5 in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, GA. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Crest Lawn Memorial Park with Masonic rites. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Funeral Home, 135 Senoia Road, Peachtree City, GA 30269.
