Virginia Lequita Anthony

Mrs. Virginia Lequita Anthony, 80, of Griffin, GA (formerly of Riverdale, GA) passed away on January 1, 2025. She was born on December 21, 1944, in Columbus, GA to the late Audrey Timmons Chastain and Joseph Chastain.

Lequita was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church in Fairburn, GA. She worked as a Real Estate agent for a few years but, at heart she was always a homemaker, and she loved being a stay-at-home mother, a devoted wife, and grandmother throughout the years. She especially loved spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren and her whole family will dearly miss her.

She is preceded in death by husband, the love of her life for 42 years, Clinton E. Anthony Jr.; her parents; and a brother-in-law, Gene Watson.

Lequita is survived by her daughters, Sherry Lynn Connell (Marion) of Alvaton, GA and Tammy Dee Conner (Danny) of Fayetteville, GA; son, Darren Keith Anthony (Kristy) of McDonough, GA; grandchildren, Kimberly Amey, Kristen Blankenship, Jeremy Henson, and Jessica Anthony; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Baggett (Johnny) of Columbus, GA and Annette Watson of Reidsville, NC; along with numerous family members and friends that will carry on her memory.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held in the chapel Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home & Crematory, 135 Senoia Road, Peachtree City, GA 30269 on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00am with Pastor Jerry Plott officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10:00am until 11:00am.

The interment will be at Westminster Memorial Gardens, 2090 GA Hwy 54, Peachtree City, GA 30269 at 12:30pm.
