

He was an Army Private in WWII where he fought in Germany. He was Sales Manager in women’s apparel most of his professional career. He loved his family the mast and was filled with the love of living in a joyous way. You could find him at Fayetteville Senior Center where he enjoyed playing pool or bridge with his buddies and his friends. Wayne was loved by many people and will be missed dearly by all that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Shirley M. Brown; his parents Harry and Jeanette Brown; his siblings, Ester, Harry, Fred, and Robert Brown.
Wayne is survived by his children, Pamela Brown Fox (Joseph), Barbara Schottke, Janice Brown Birch (Edward), Michael Brown (Pamela), Mark Brown (Melissa), Marcia Brown Bassett (Robert); 17 grandchildren and 1 on the way, Paul Applegate (Angela), Amanda Applegate (Tom), Tamara Birch Olason (Scott), Bryan Birch (Shannon), Kristen Birch, Courtney Birch, Bradley Schottke (Jen), Ann Hohnadel (David), Dustin Brown (DeVae’), Amber Brown, Michael Brown, Sayuri Brown, Adam Brown, Maegan Strickland, Danielle Townsend (Drew), Nicholas Bassett (Jodi), Jessie Bassett; 19 great-grandchildren and 1 one the way; sisters, Patricia Vidosh and Sandra Mayberry; and numerous other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City on March 29, 2016 at 4:00pm with Military Honors. Deacon Pecore of St Philip Benizi Catholic Church of Jonesboro will be officiating the service.
The family has requested no flowers be sent, instead they ask for donations to be made in his honor to Vitas Hospice at Emory University Hospital Center for Palliative Care at 4-712-GIVE or to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.in_my_community_donate.
