

He was born Thursday, February 26, 1925 in Bogalusa, LA and was a resident of Richland for 63 years. He was employed by Chevron and was a man of many talents. He built and flew his own ultralight airplane and loved building and flying remote control airplanes. He was also an avid gardener and was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need.
Although he suffered from dementia, he was always happy and a joy to be around. The employees of “Mama’s Kitchen”, his favorite place to eat, nicknamed him “Mr. Smiley”, because he was always happy and smiling. Mr. Rucker was greatly loved by his family, friends and community. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a man of generosity and kindness.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Byrd Rucker.
Survivors include sister, Margaret Rucker Knight of Alpharetta, GA; daughters, Debbie Rucker Saik (Albert) of Madison and Ann Losset (Mark) of Gautier; and sons, Al Rucker (Joyce) of Cleary and Tony Comeaux (Pat) of Brandon. He was blessed with 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 9:00-11:00am, Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel with interment in Lakewood Memorial Park.
