

Visitation is 5:00-8:00pm Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 11:00am Friday, March 16. 2012 at Good Hope Baptist Church in Camden, with interment to follow in Rocky Hill Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
Mr. Cauthen was a native of Camden and a member of Rocky Hill Methodist Church. A U.S. Army veteran, he owned Cauthen Construction for many years and was a member of the Home Builders Association. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed by all. May He rest peacefully with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Shirley Burton Cauthen; son, Allen Cauthen, Jr. and wife, Susan of Pearl; daughter, Roechell Odom and husband, Jim of Lafayette, LA; grandsons, Cole Cauthen, Clint Odom, Morgan Cauthen; granddaughter, Olivia Odom; and brothers, Ben Cauthen and wife, Berniece of Vaiden, Charles Cauthen and wife, Mae of Ridgeland, and Harry Cauthen and wife, Opal of Camden, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Bessie Cauthen; brothers, LeeRoy Cauthen, John (“Buddy”) Cauthen, James Cauthen, and Frank Cauthen; sister, Betty McDaniel; and grandson, Cory Cauthen.
Pallbearers will be Allen Cauthen, Jr., Cole Cauthen, Morgan Cauthen, Jim Odom, Clint Odom, Bill Cauthen, and James Cauthen. Honorary Pallbearer will be Carl McWilliams.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to his neice, Cyndi Fearon and the staff of Sta-Home Hospice: Beatrice, Rhonda, Jennifer, Renea, and Mia, who provided him with the greatest of care.
