Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Private interment services will be held in the Canton City Cemetery.
He was born February 24, 1938, in Neshoba County, Mississippi, a son of the late Van Townsend and Vista Whitmire Townsend.
Rev. Townsend was a longtime minister, serving our Lord in evangelical work, and was an active member of the Church of the Vine in Pearl. He was a life-long automobile body repairman and mechanic, having worked in several shops including 13 years with Blackwell Chevrolet. He retired from Jackson Ready Mix after 17 years of faithful service.
In addition to his parents, Rev. Townsend was preceded in death by his wives, Janie Townsend, and Barbara Townsend; and daughter, Ginger Willis.
Survivors include sons, Dwight Townsend and wife Tammy, Anthony Townsend and wife Sherry, and Douglas Townsend; brothers, Edward Townsend, and Elijah Townsend; and sister, Alma Bates.
