Born in Hinds County on April 6, 1960, to Thomas Lee Zebert and Tabitha Ann Wynn Zebert, Kathy was a daddy's girl from the start, and her childhood years were spent getting in and out of trouble with her brothers.
Even after moving all the way to Texas and all around the South, she always kept her family in her heart. When she found love and became a mother, she worked through all the challenges she faced with being a good mom first in her heart and mind, and her children always knew the strength of her love. She treasured spending time with them and grandchildren and was endlessly generous with her family and friends.
A brilliant and creative woman, she spent more than thirty-five years in the court reporting industry working to uplift her fellow reporters emotionally, intellectually and legally. In her spare time, she baked delicious treats, crafted beautiful jewelry, painted what made her heart happy, and wrote stories both fiction and real to bring smiles to other people's faces. There was never a dull moment when Kathy was in the room.
Ms. Zebert is preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter; Lauren Tweedy, son; Ali Lahouti (Jenny); grandchildren, Sophia and Michael Lahouti; brothers, Criss Zebert, Jason Zebert (Shelia), and Lee Zebert (Aurora).
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 10:00am-11:00am at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, Mississippi. A Celebration of Life Service will be held following in the funeral home chapel.
