Delitha Ann (Patrick) Cook

A graveside service will take place at 11:00am on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery in Mendenhall. Officiating will be Rev. Marcus Burnham. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Sullivan, Hunter Cook, James (Bubba) Cook, Douglas Vanderford, Gerald Kelly, and Daniel Kelly.

Mrs.Cook was born on October 8, 1933 to the late John Henry Patrick and Annie Webb Patrick in Scott County, Mississippi. She married her husband, Robert Cook, on August 1, 1959. She worked as a telephone operator for 35 years with Bell South. Mrs. Cook enjoyed her job and the beloved friends she gained from her time there. She was a member of the Pioneers of Bell South as well. Delitha cherished her family with all of her heart. She loved the Lord and was a wonderful wife and loving mother and grandmother. She had a reputation for doting on her two grandboys whom she endlessly adored. She also treasured her church family at Galilee Baptist Church in Mendenhall where she was a faithful member. In her free time, she could be found picking peas and tending to her esteemed vegetable garden. Otherwise, she was working her magic in the kitchen. Her generous nature meant she was always making something comforting, to share with people at church, family and friends. Mrs. Cook was always helping others and doing good for others in any way she could, offering frequent visits filled with friendly conversation to brighten up the day of anyone she could. The family would like to say a special thank you to everyone at Lackey Convalescent Home for the care and love they gave to Mrs. Cook as well as Lackey Memorial Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Gray Cook, and siblings, Johnny Patrick, Grover Patrick, Elmer Gray Patrick, and Sally Ruth Williams.

She is survived by her endearing husband of 61 years, Robert Cook; daughter, Connie Sullivan (Rudy); daughter-in-law, Connie Cook; and grandsons, Brandon Sullivan and Hunter Cook.

Mrs. Cook will be deeply missed by all.
