Dorothy Walker Busby

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm, Monday, January 4, 2016, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 2:00pm Tuesday, January 5, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Dorothy, along with her late husband, C.B. Busby, established Busby’s Digging Service in Pearl in 1960, where she continued to work for several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pearl, the American Legion Post No. 112 and the Auxiliary of the Loyal Order of Moose Chapter No. 1426. Dorothy also served as a poll manager for the City of Pearl for more than 40 years.

Dorothy was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. Very family-oriented, her greatest joy was to spend time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include daughters, Dianne Scott, Gail Ainsworth (Wayne) and Karen Torrence (Tim); son, Bud Busby (Suzanne); sister, Betty Malley; grandchildren, Tyler Scott, Brad Ainsworth, David Torrence, Casey Bates, Brandon Busby and Clay Busby; and great-grandchildren, Brayden Ainsworth, Elizabeth Bates, Breckyn Busby and Breleigh Pennick.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Veral Walker, and sister, Yvonne Jones.

Memorials may be given in her honor to the donor’s favorite charity.
