

Visitation will be 8:00-10:00am, Friday, June 30, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Brandon- College Street Campus. Funeral services will follow at 10:00am, with interment in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Dot was a charter member of Oak Forest Baptist Church in Jackson, and later became a member of First Baptist Church of Brandon, where she enjoyed participating in the Explorers Bible Study. A retired nurse, Dot worked for years at the Ball Pittman Clinic for Women where she taught child birth classes. She loved to travel and adventured all over the U.S. and several foreign countries.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Sessums, Sr.
Survivors include son, Bobby Sessums (Elisa); daughters, Linda Taylor, Mary Tucker (Tommy), Janet Sessums, and Marty Rose (Joe); sisters, Barbara Faye Evans and Maxine Puckett; grandchildren, Melanie Sessums, Robbey Sessums, Jennifer Taylor, James Taylor, Ashley Wright, Brian Tucker, Zak Rose, Hayley Rose, and Ellen Rose; and great-grandchildren, Carter Sessums, Eli Sessums, Madelyn Sessums, Wesley Taylor and Samuel Taylor.
In honor of Dot’s love for travel and sharing the Gospel, in lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church of Brandon-Bettye Herrington Mission Fund.
Dot’s family wishes to express their sincerest appreciation to the staff of Tender Touch Health Care and her most recent caregivers, Marguerite Bennett, Sara Anthony, and Lorine Evans, as well as the staffs of 5D and SICU at MS Baptist Medical Center, and the staff of Hospice Ministries for their loving care and compassion.
