Frankie was born on April 9, 1935 in Lena, Mississippi, in the small community known as Cedar Grove.
She retired from Magnolia Tools in Ridgeland, Mississippi and was a former employee of Presto Manufacturing in Jackson, Mississippi. She was a member of Skyway Hills Baptist Church in Pearl.
Frankie loved the Lord, her family and friends.
Anyone who met her would without a doubt feel the love she showed to everyone. Her love language showed through her delicious Southern home cooking. She made the best biscuits and gravy in town. The holidays were her favorite time of the year. She loved her family to gather and eat and then eat some more. One or two plates was never enough. Desserts had their own table. Her famous chocolate pie was a family favorite.
Dancing brought her so much joy. If the music was playing, her hips and feet were moving. She could cut a rug to a good ole Honky Tonk tune.
One of her greatest joys in life was her 2 great grandsons, Forrest and Cash. The bond they shared with her was like no other. They lit up her world and she was equally important to them. Wherever Mawmaw Frankie was, they were happy to be there too. To Frankie, Forrest and Cash were second to none.
Frankie was preceded in death by her parents, Morgan and Hattie Harrell, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers.
Survivors include 4 sons, Don King (Ann) of Vaiden, Mississippi, Rickey King (Noreene) of Mendenhall, Mississippi, Jim Jayroe (Cindy) of Terry, Mississippi, and Bill Gilmer (Cindy) of Brandon, Mississippi; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; 1 brother, Ollie Harrell; 3 sisters, Kat Bigby, Hazel Purvis, and Betty Loper; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Will Gilmer, Marshall Horn, Kyle Jayroe, Billy Carter, Jim Slaton, and Tony Harrell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Forrest Horn and Cash Horn.
A special "Thank You" to her granddaughter, Kimberly Horn. Kim was her best friend and caregiver and would go above and beyond for her Mawmaw. Kim would take her to all her doctor appointments, out to eat, vacations, dancing, and would make sure she was taken care of every day. Kim was a very important part of her life. "Job well done Kim!!"
