Gordon Arthur Grogan, Sr., 97, of Brandon, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2025. He was born on February 6, 1928, in Leake County, MS, to Colbart A. Grogan and Mattie Howell Kirkland. One of seven children, Gordon grew up with a strong sense of family, faith, and hard work that shaped the rest of his life.
For 74 years, Gordon was devoted to his beloved wife, Peggy Grogan. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and dedication to their family and community.
A proud veteran, Gordon served honorably in the United States Army. After his service, he became a successful entrepreneur, owning and operating several businesses throughout Rankin and Hinds Counties. Known for his love of classic cars and his green thumb, Gordon always had a beautifully tended garden and a project car to admire.
Gordon was a man of deep faith. He loved the Lord and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Fannin, where he found great joy in his church family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Peggy Grogan; his children Gordan Grogan, Jr. (Irene), Fred Grogan (Jennie), Ronnie Grogan (Angie), and Chris Grogan (Cherrell); twelve grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and all of his siblings: Waudine Smith, Jean Huddleston, Raymond O’Neal Grogan, Bobby Joe Grogan, Kenneth Grogan, and Wallace Grogan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 AM in the chapel, with interment at Fannin Cemetery located at 101 Church Rd, Brandon, MS 39047
