James "Martin" Bounds Sr.

James Martin Bounds Sr., 86, of Florence, Mississippi went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 20, 2024. Martin was born in Linwood, Neshoba County, Mississippi to W.L. and Lucy Bounds on April 2, 1938. He attended Terry High School.

Martin married Betty Somers in 1958. He served in the United States Army, and then he worked as a General Contractor for over 50 years. He was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his daughter, Sara; son-in-law, Lawson; granddaughters, Rachel, Toni, and Shelby; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Robert and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; son, James; daughter-in-law, Terresa; his parents; brothers, J.W., Calbert, Rayford, and G.A.; and sisters, Ophelia, Velma, and Motha.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:00am on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. His funeral service will follow afterward at 11:00am that same day in the funeral home chapel. Private interment will be held.
