Visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am, Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Celebration of Remembrance Services will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel.
Jim was born July 27, 1934, in Huntsville, Alabama, a son of the late Lee A. Franklin and Elizabeth Allen Franklin. He served our country with the U.S. Air Force, and was employed with the Federal Aviation Agency for more than 30 years as an air traffic controller. Jim was a member of Pearson Baptist Church in Pearl.
An avid golfer, Jim spent as much time as he could on the course. In his free time Jim enjoyed taking the grandchildren for rides on his motorcycle, singing karaoke, and watching Alabama sports- Roll Tide!
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Melissa Corban.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Shirley Franklin; daughter, Cheryl Haley; sons, Steve Franklin and wife Margie, and Gary Franklin and wife Dora; grandchildren, Kandice Fiello, Rachel Corban, Kristin Warrington, Brittany Wade, Paige Lowery, Jennifer, Duhon, Ryan Moore, and Jeremy Moore; and 16 great-grandchildren.
