Jerry was born Monday, August 26, 1940 in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, a son of the late Clarence Gillis and Annell Arnold Gillis. He retired from U.S. Tobacco Co. after more than 23 years as a sales representative. Jerry's favorite times were spent with family and friends on his pontoon boat on the Reservoir.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Charlotte Luke Gillis; sons, Chad Gillis and wife Natalie and Luke Gillis; sister, Marion Nelson; and 4 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by sisters, Jackie Perry and Dorothy Miller.
The Gillis family invites all friends and family to join them for a time of remembrance and reflection to be held 5:00-8:00pm on Thursday, December 3, 2015, in the Blue Room of the Pearl Community Center.
