Jesse was born October 3, 1929 in Lawrence, Mississippi, the youngest of ten children. He graduated from Lake High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and returned home where he married in 1954. Jesse lived the majority of his life in Jackson for 40 years, working and raising his family. He and Joyce moved to Pearl in 1995. He retired his business, Dennis Tech Supply, in 2001, after many years of distributing tire repair products throughout the delta and southern Mississippi. After retirement, he spent most of his time with family and friends always looking for an opportunity to brighten someone’s day.
Jesse loved to entertain people with his music and sense of humor. He learned to play guitar as a young boy and used his talent up until his last day. Throughout the past 70 years of his life, he played for family gatherings, nursing homes, retirement parties, customers, walking buddies and many others. Jesse wanted everyone around him to have a good time in his presence. He was always one of the first to visit family and friends in the hospital and took great pride in attending funerals of those who went before him. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and will leave a void in our hearts that cannot be replaced, but we take solace knowing that he has joined family and friends in Heaven, who will be smiling for eternity.
Funeral services are 10am Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl with interment in Lakewood Memorial Park.
