Visitation is 5-8pm Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 1:00pm Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in the funeral home chapel.
John Ray Berry Poe was born March 2, 1951 in Greenwood, Mississippi. A 1969 graduate of Calhoun City High School, he retired from the M.D.O.T. in 2006. His hobbies include fishing and hunting, however, he will best be remembered for his love of cooking-especially his cheese biscuits. His grandchildren were the light of his life and his favorite times were spent with them. A loving, kind and generous spirit, he will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Esther Holmes Poe; daughters, Melissa Lynette Poe and Melinda Ashley Poe Meetze; grandchildren, Delia Jordan Poe, John Anthony and Michael Jacob Meetze; brother, Everett Anthony Sartin; and Jason and Christopher Poe.
