She was born May 31, 1923 in the Daniel Community in Smith County, MS to the late John L. and Bessie Gill Daniel. She was a lifelong resident of Mississippi. Her career as a beautician took her to Jackson and she spent her retirement years in Florence.
Mrs. Hawkins is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Denver Hawkins; and son, Ronnie Hawkins.
She is survived by her son, Danny Hawkins of Florence; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
There will be a private family service held according to her wishes.
