Larry was born March 27, 1956, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, a son of the late Welman Watkins “Billy” Daniels and Mary Alice Phillips Daniels. Larry shared a deep bond with his family and spent much of his life working, hunting, and fishing alongside his father and brother. From a young age, he wanted to be the first to drive or operate any vehicle that was on the farm.
Larry enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in the trucking industry, working for several companies as well as spending time self-employed. He concluded his career upon his retirement from Walmart. Throughout his years on the road, Larry earned the respect and admiration of many friends and colleagues, who fondly knew him by his handle, “Lefty.”
Larry was always adventurous, with hobbies and interests that spanned a wide range. He took great pride in his big game hunting trips to Colorado and the time he spent hunting on his family’s land in West, Mississippi. He also found joy out on the water in his boat and riding his Harley-Davidson. Never one to sit still, Larry was constantly working on a project—whether building, fixing, or improving something. Above all, he especially loved sharing his adventures with the love of his life, Marcia.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother whose life was rooted in love and family. He cherished every moment spent with those closest to him and made it his priority to nurture and support them. Through his dedication and hard work, he ensured his family was always cared for, leaving behind a legacy of commitment, strength, and unwavering love.
In addition to his parents Larry was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Nelda Coutee, and father-in-law, Ellis Coutee.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Marcia Daniels; daughter, Amy Daniels-Robinson (Marshall); brother, Bill Daniels (Julie); sister, Carol Stewart (Bubba); grandchildren, Seth Philip Robinson, Wyatt Lee Robinson, and Mary Adelynn Robinson; and his four-legged companions, Ella, Hairy, and Co-Op.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Patriot Guard Riders of Mississippi, c/o Roger Barrett, 2007 Magnolia Cove, Byram, MS 39272.
