Lester was born July 6, 1947 in Jonesville, Louisiana to the late Robert Lester and Natalie Jean Fairbanks.
Lester was a faithful servant of the Lord. He was an ordained minister, deacon and gifted Sunday School teacher. He loved the Lord, his family and LSU football.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; son, Garrett Fairbanks and daughter, Marla Fairbanks Hand and her husband Mike all of Brandon; sister, Terri Fairbanks Taunton and her husband Sammy of Watertown, NY; grandchildren, Chandler and Jacob Thompson, Natalie Hand, and Tyler Fairbanks; and mother-in-law, Betty Smith of Jonesville, LA.
