Loyce Berryhill

Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00pm, Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 2:00pm, Sunday, October 20, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with interment in Faith Baptist Church Cemetery, Florence.

She was born May 8, 1956 in Walker County, Alabama, a daughter of the late Carl Abbott and Ester Brown Abbott.

Loyce was a Certified Nursing Assistant and Surgical Prep Technician for St. Dominic Hospital. She was recognized as Employee of the Month and often described as compassionate, dedicated, reliable and trustworthy by her supervisors, co-workers and patients she cared for. Her ability to be flexible and her easy-going, yet professional attitude endeared her to the St. Dominic family and she will be remembered fondly and greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

Loyce was a skilled gardener. Very gifted with raising flowers and plants, she spent many hours tending her beautiful yard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Sue Fowler and Benny Abbott.

Survivors include her husband, Jorge Boyd Ertwine; sons, Tony Berryhill and wife Molly and Scott Berryhill; daughter, Melany Burrow and husband Matt; grandchildren, Nicholas and Dillon Berryhill and Zachery Burrow; and brothers and sisters, H.C. Abbott and wife Vicki, T.J. Abbott and wife Linda, Bill Abbott and wife Wuanita, Jerry Abbott and wife Sherry, Vernon Abbott and wife Teresa, Roy Abbott and wife Diane, Frank Abbott and wife Cindy, Joyce O’Mary and husband James and Judy Keeton and husband Jerry; a host of nieces and nephews; many special friends including Cheryl, Taresa, Tammy, Barbara, and everyone at St. Dominic-so many we can’t begin to mention them all.
