She was preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart and husband of fifty years, James K. “Skeeter” Walters; parents, Don and Annie Low Burnham; siblings, Margaret James, Bill Burnham, Jo Ann McLain, Vondella Huff, and Lillie Jean Mears.
She leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her children, Pam Peeples (John), Louanne Pope (Danny), and Jamie Walters; brother, Cecil Burnham (Celia); four grandchildren, Shelly Smith, Karen Talley, Keither Dennis, and Haylee Ambrose; six great-grandchildren, and special sister-in-law, Margie Hamilton (McCoy).
Her early career was raising her three daughters. Later she worked at Grandview Baptist Church Day Care for over twenty years, while also rocking and loving babies in the church nursery each Sunday.
She enjoyed and excelled at cooking and feeding family, friends, and sometimes strangers. An excellent cook, she was most at home in the kitchen.

The family will receive friends at Baldwin Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm and Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 11:00 am until noon. Service will follow at 12:00pm in the chapel at Baldwin Lee with interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
