Margaret McKay

A celebration of the life of Margaret Jean Holland McKay will be Monday, February 20, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.

Margaret Jean McKay, 81, died at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland following a short illness. She was born on August 5, 1935, to the late Fred Clayton Holland and Era Bell Holland of Brandon. She was a lifelong resident of Brandon and a 1953 graduate of Brandon High School, where she made close friendships that she maintained throughout her life.

Margaret Jean married Jesse Stanser McKay in 1956. She will be remembered for her sweet spirit as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved reading, gardening, bird watching, and solving crossword puzzles.

Margaret Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Stanser and her brother, James Clayton Holland.

She is survived by her son, Michael Stanser McKay (Sandra), her daughter Kathy Lynn McKay Dongieux (John); five grandchildren, John Brennan Dongieux, II, Jesse Peyton Dongieux, Sarah Noelle Dongieux, Ann Fowler Purcell (Clay), and James Ellis Fowler, III, (Fran); and four great grandchildren.
