Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm, Friday, February 12, 2016, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 1:00pm, Saturday, February 13, 2016, in the funeral home chapel with interment in the Raleigh City Cemetery.
Mary was born Saturday, September 1, 1928, in Raleigh, Mississippi, a daughter of the late Nathaniel and Mary Freeman.
Survivors include sons, Joe Thornton and wife Aiko, and Jim Thornton and wife Margaret; grandchildren, Kevin Thornton and wife Amanda, and Jennifer Thornton; and great-grandchildren, Madison and Zoe-Cate Thornton.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Lester C. Thornton, and three infant children.
