Nell C. Chaney

Visitation will be from 2 - 4pm Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will be at 3pm Monday in the funeral home chapel with interment at Lakewood South Cemetery.

She was born Thursday, April 19, 1923 in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, a daughter of the late James Campbell "J.C." Carlisle and Georgie Dixie Magee Carlisle.

Mrs. Chaney was a homemaker who loved her family. A mother's legacy is how much she is loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each one harbors an enduring love for her.

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chaney was preceded in death by her husband, V.A. Chaney, five brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by daughters, Donna Shaw and husband Mike and Betty Simmons and husband Glyn; son, James "Buster" Chaney; grandchildren, Angela Soltau and husband Thomas, Kristen Goethe and husband Adam, Justin McPhail and wife Kim, Brian Shaw and wife Courtney and Eryn Toney and husband Chad; great-grandchildren, Robyn Soltau, Byron Goethe, Barrett Goethe, Rylee Shaw, Abigail Shaw, Logan Toney, Connor Toney and Adyn Toney; and nieces and nephews.
