November 4, 1957 - January 31, 2023
Norris Moore was born on November 4, 1957, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Doris Irene Myers Moore and Violas Martin Moore. He endured serious illnesses from childhood and throughout his life. He is our miracle brother as he was cured from cystic fibrosis as a young child through the fervent prayers of his parents and family. Norris was an honest, loving, devoted man and looked to his Lord and Savior for guidance throughout his life. He was bold about his witness and tried to live his life in God’s will. He would be the first to say he wasn’t perfect, but God gave him strength to overcome his hardships in life. Norris leaves a great void here on earth, but is with his loved ones in heaven where we will join him in God’s time.
Norris loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, dirt biking as a kid, exploring the woods with his cousins, fast cars as a teenager, and enjoyed all things family.
Norris was an auto mechanic for Hinds County Central Repair for most of his career of over 30 years.
Norris was predeceased by his Parents, Violas and Doris Moore; former wife, Bonnie Kersh Moore, and his beloved grandparents.
Norris is survived by his sisters, Lila Moore (George) Yerger; Ginger Moore (Bill) Buck; Bonnie Moore (Jimmy) Houston; and brother, Val Malone (Nelda) Moore. Nieces and nephews, Michelle (Tim) Ashcraft; Jay (Devi) Houston; Ashley (Steven) Arceo; Carrie Ann Moore; Austin (Lydia) Moore; Tyler (Emily) Moore; great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece, one aunt, a host of cousins, and too many friends to name, including his canine companion, Curtis.
We will cherish our memories of you forever.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm, Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Graveside services will follow at 3:00pm at Lakewood South Cemetery in Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, we would prefer memorial donations to be sent to either The Gateway Rescue Mission, P. O. Box 3763, Jackson, MS 39207-3763, or to Hospice Ministries, 450 Town Center Boulevard, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
