Patricia Mae Gilbert

The family held a private service.

She was born on January 23, 1956 in Biloxi, Mississippi to the late William Chesley Parks, Sr. and Ethel Merle Jones Parks. A natural caregiver, her career as a nurse fulfilled her compassionate heart to tend to the needs of others. She was also very nurturing to her garden, which included many kinds of flowers and anything she could find a seed for. From potatoes to avocados, she could grow just about anything. Patricia had not only a green thumb, but a creative personality. Many times she could be found working on various craft projects, and she was a true handmade artist. In addition, she enjoyed listening to music and one of her favorite artists was Aaron Neville. Most of all, Patricia loved her family. From organized family reunions, to simply sitting down with kids to help them with art projects, she treasured every moment with them. She adored travelling to visit her family on the coast and in Ocean Springs. Patricia shared her love of her family with everyone and was always talking about getting her family members together.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Gilbert; son, Steven Gilbert, Jr.; brother, Victor Parks; and sister, Ann Windham.

Patricia is survived by her children, Rachel Gilbert, Destiny Gilbert, Brandon Gilbert, Chance Gilbert, and Hannah Gilbert; stepson, Steven Lungsford; brother, Billy Parks, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Nathan Tennant, Autumn Tennant, and Adrina Gilbert; nieces, Cheryl Parks and Stephanie Hughes; nephew, Daniel Lowler; as well as a host of other beloved family members.

She will be so dearly missed.
