Rachel D. Smith

Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00pm Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 10:00am, Wednesday, April 2, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

She was born Tuesday, October 19, 1943 in Prentiss, Mississippi. Mrs. Smith was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Monticello. She retired in 1998 from St. Dominic Hospital after more than 30 years of service. Her hobbies included listening to music, genealogy research and spending time with her precious grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin “Pop” Smith, and father, Gustave Dearman.

Survivors include son, Rev. Michael Smith and wife Kim; daughter, Stacey Ferguson; mother, Christeen Bridges Jenkins; brothers, Ronald Dearman and wife Ruby and Danny Dearman; grandchildren, Emily Kate and Thomas Smith; special caregiver and friend, Gloria Myers; and canine companion, Diamond.
