Ruby Posey McBrayer

Visitation will be held 1:00-3:00pm, Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Services will continue on Monday, December 30, 2013 with visitation being held 1:00-3:30pm at Norwood Funeral Home in Guin, Alabama. Funeral services will follow at 3:30pm in the funeral home chapel with interment in West Alabama Memorial Gardens.

She was born September 28, 1936 in Beaverton, Alabama, a daughter of the late Unis Markham and Lillie Bookout Markham, and was a member of Living Hope Ministries Church in Jackson. She was employed for many years as a bookkeeper/office manager for Jackson Ford Tractor. She then purchased and operated Ann’s Children’s Shop in the Metro Center Mall. Following her marriage in 1988 to George McBrayer, she assisted him in the operation of the Woods Smart Shoes stores, located in Jackson, Canton and Pearl. She was also employed by Mid-South Auto Salvage.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Neil Harper, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
