

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm Friday, May 5, 2017, and 10:30-11:30am Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Graveside services are 12:00pm, Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Mr. Thornton enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed family, friends, and laughter. Blessed with the gift of gab, he was a true people person, and could talk easily with people of any age. He enjoyed a varied career over the years and retired from the Clorox Corp. He was a former Flowood Police officer and served with the Flowood Volunteer Fire Dept. His hobbies included fishing and riding motorcycles, and he rode the “Wall of Fire” at the MS State fair. Mr. Thornton will best be remembered for his humble and grateful attitude, and as he often said, “Every day is a blessed day.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex Rayvelle Thornton and Helen Dukes Thornton, and brother, Bobby Thornton.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Tammy Thornton; daughters, Christy Thornton/Rogers, Tabbi McKinney (Jason), Talaine Warren (Gabe), and Tasma Troutman (Tyler); brother, Danny Thornton; sister, Mary Garner; grandchildren, Tarah Nieburg, Steven Nieburg, Kayla Null, Savannah Raines, Kierstyn McKinney, Kiernyn McKinney, and Hunter Warren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
