April’s journey began at Vashon High School and St. Louis University, where she laid the foundation for her future as the heart and soul (and CEO) of her family. A gifted athlete, she excelled as both a tennis player and swimmer, but her true talents stretched far beyond the court and pool. April had a love for singing, playing the scratch board, and creating music out of nearly every word she spoke. Her rhythm wasn’t just musical—it was woven into everything she did, from her creativity to the joy she brought to those around her.
Her family was everything to her, and she embraced every moment with love, laughter, and a hint of silliness. April had a unique style—quirky, unapologetically herself, and always awe-inspiring. She found magic in the simplest things, and her curiosity led her to become an avid reader and lifelong researcher. Whether exploring new ideas or just sharing her wisdom, her encouragement and advice were invaluable.
The foundation of her family’s strength, April was a beacon of peace, unity, and unwavering support. She reminded us daily that love and laughter could be the most powerful forces in the world.
April is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Westbrook Harris and Alfred Harris, her sisters are Margo Harris, Greta Harris, Debra Harris (R.I.P.). Her brothers are Alfred Harris, Jr (R.I.P.). and Pat Harris (R.I.P.). Her Aunt is Vernice Westbrook Conner; Her uncles are Melvin Westbrook (R.I.P.), Benny L. Westbrook (R.I.P.), and Dr. Bobby Westbrook (R.I.P.).
Those left to remember April fondly are her husband, Kenneth Fisher, Sr.; her loving children; her daughters, Sonja Nicole Fisher, Chavey Janell Fisher Prince and Shawnice Kenpril Fisher; her sons, Nilotes Neiron Fisher, Kenneth Darnell FIsher, Jr., Adam Lee Fisher, Aaron Mark Fisher (R.I.P.) and Austin Ray Fisher (R.I.P.) and her beloved grandchildren, Stavon Fisher, Latonia Fisher, December Fisher, Tavion Fisher, Michael Faison, Valanjio Walker, Victoria Prince, Vanessa Prince, Victor Prince, Jr., Vinza Prince and Amara Walker. Great-grandchild Josiah Neil, and In-Laws.
Dearest Mama April,
As we gather to say travel well, our hearts are filled with both sadness and profound gratitude. You have been so much more than a mother-in-law to us. You welcomed us into your family with open arms, and your love and kindness have left an indelible mark on all our lives.
Your wisdom, compassion, and unwavering support were gifts that we will always cherish. You taught us not just by words, but by the way you lived—with grace, strength, and an endless well of love for those fortunate enough to be close to you. You were the glue that held us together, the quiet strength behind so many of our happiest moments.
We’ll miss your stories, your laughter, and the warmth of your presence. But most of all, we’ll miss the way you made each of us feel seen and loved, as though we were truly your own. Your legacy will live on in the lessons you’ve taught us, the love you’ve shared, and the cherished memories we’ll hold close to our hearts.
Though this farewell is difficult, we find comfort in knowing that your love will continue to surround us in ways both big and small. Thank you for everything you’ve given us, and for being such a remarkable person. We are better because of you, and we will carry your spirit with us always.
With all our love, Engr. Victor Prince Sr. (Son in Law) for the Prince Family.

Poems:
Phenomenal Woman
By Maya Angelou
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need for my care.
’Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
A Mother's Love Is Where It Be
By Chavey Prince.
Our Mother's love is comfort
She used the power of her words to build us up
and to never tear us down. Our mother's love is where it be.
Her encouragement made us feel we can conquer the world
As long as we stay focused. She found a way to bring happiness
Even when surrounded by chaos and sadness. Our mother's love is where it be.
Mama was funny without trying to be. She'll kindly roast you with her
comedic honesty. Before you know it you're laughing because her honesty
was always with love. Our mother's love is where it be
Our mother always had our back. She'd come to our school and right
the wrongs of a bully teacher. She pointed out the wrongs of the school
system and had the school asking if she can represent them.
Our mother's love is where it be.
She'd always show us that true love can heal.
She'd break down barriers of a fortified heart.
She'd tell us it doesn't matter what others say, you know who you are and
Don't let no one change who you are.
Our mother's love is where it be.
A hug from her said it all, filled with warmth
Love and embrace reminded us
that no matter our age we are her babies for life.
Our mother's love is where it be.
Our mother's love lives on. We carry her DNA
We are the safe keepers of her bloodline.
Our mother's love is where it be.
