Miguel Vela

Miguel was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Guadalupe and Ofelia Vela; and cousin, Johnathan Vela. He is survived by his parents, Maria Elena Mata and David Mata; siblings, Alicia Vela (Junior), David Adam Mata (Gaby), Daniel Mata and Alexia Mata; Nephews, JoAngel and Gabriel; Nieces, Jay’ and A.J.; Goddaughter, Emilia Barton; Tias, Pita (Chacho), Vike (Pancho), Mati (Robert), Martha (Ben) and Elodia Mata; Tios, Lupe (Rosie), Martin (Toni) and Oscar Vela; cousins, who he loved as brothers and sisters; and friends who became family.

Miguel was a dedicated truck dispatcher for over 17 years where he was able to form abundant friendships with colleagues that lasted a lifetime. He was known for his kind spirit and giving heart. His eternal memory will live through all those who adored and loved him.

A visitation for Miguel will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park South Funeral Home, 12650 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, TX 77584. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 12650 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, TX 77584. A committal service will follow at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Houston Memorial Gardens.
