Born December 15, 1968 in Peoria, she was the daughter of Grover L. “Red” and Carole A. (Bishop) Rodgers. Her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Lowe and Luke Harrison Rodgers Hunter. Abbie shared the gift of Luke through adoption to a wonderful couple, Kris and Gordon Hunter, we are proud to have him/them as part of our family. Abbie had one granddaughter that she loved with all her heart, Anabelle Wright, 11 of Pekin. Also surviving are her brother, Jim Rodgers of Manito; one sister, Amy Rodgers of Pekin; one nephew, James (Lindsey) Rodgers of LeClaire, Iowa and their children, James, III (Trey) and Lexie Rodgers; one niece, Jade Rodgers and her children Layla, Logan, Luci and Lorelei Hull.
Abbie had been blessed with a variety of jobs that have given her so many skills and friendships that have followed her for many years. She was loud, loving and not afraid to take on any task. She remained in contact with childhood friends that had always been important to her. Faith was important to Abbie and felt especially blessed over the last years to be able to move around the country and see all the beauty that God has given us. She was a lifetime member of First Christian Church in Pekin.
Please hold in your thoughts and prayers, those that received blessings from Abbie through the Gift of Hope, organ and tissue donation.
A celebration of Abbie’s life will be at the Peoria Sportsman’s Club in the Spring. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be given to Tazewell Animal Protective Society, 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, Illinois 61554 in honor of Abbie’s love of dogs and her dear Rolex.
