

PEKIN ~ Alice Faye Wheeler, 41, of Pekin, passed away at 8 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at her home.
Born December 12, 1975 in Peoria to Jesse Albert and Carol L. (Spurlock) Collins, Jr., she married Samuel W. Wheeler on September 30, 1995 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Carol L. Spurlock of Peoria; three sons, Samuel W. (Katelyn) Wheeler, Jesse Ray Wheeler and William Wheeler, all of Pekin; two grandsons, Stephen Wheeler and Phoenix Wheeler; and one granddaughter, Fayleigh Wheeler; three brothers, Jesse Albert Collins III of Bellevue, William Collins of Peoria and Joe Collins of Columbia, Missouri; and two sisters, Danyale Collins of Peoria and Hope Muhammed of Columbia, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her father; one brother, Christopher Lee Collins; and one sister, Angel Collins.
Alice was a member of First Baptist Church in Morton.
She had worked as a teacher at Rogy's Learning Place in Pekin for the last 18 years.
She was very devoted to her family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing darts in her spare time.
Her visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Children's Hospital of Illinois to support Congenital Heart Defects at 530 NE Glen Oak Ave. Peoria, IL 61637 or to the Tazwood Center for Wellness at 3248 Van De Ver Ave. Pekin, IL 61554.
