Allen E "Gene" Swearingen

Born April 25, 1947 in Normal to RobertA. and Geraldine J. (Barber) Swearingen, he married Laura Ann Bradbury on October 20, 2012 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are his father , Robert of Bloomington; two adopted daughters, Annette (Ron) Collins of Cornelius, OR and Connie Bell of Mollala, OR; three grandchildren, Dustin, Sarah and Tim; and two sisters, Linda (Vic) Skaggs of Sumrall, MS and Cindy (Keith) Hudson of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine and step-mother, Dorthy V. Swearingen.

Gene was a truck driver for Watkins & Shepherd Trucking in Missoula, Montana, retiring in 2001. He was also an ordained Minister until 1999.

He was a life member of Disabled American Veterans.

Gene enjoyed fishing and electric trains, his greatest joy was serving his Lord.

He attended River of Life Church in Pekin.

Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no visitation or services.
