He was born on March 1, 1970 in Pekin, a son of Omer and Joanne (Rife) Cox.
Andrew worked as a third shift cashier at Shell Gas Station in Creve Coeur for 23 years. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks. Andrew was very family-oriented, loved to assist everyone in any way that he could. Andrew did not have a bad bone in his body, and his cheerful dedicated soul made him a special friend to many. Several of his nephew’s friends even referred to him as uncle.
He is survived by his nephews, Jerry Cox of Marquette Heights, and Thomas (Tori) Cox of Pekin; several great nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law; Tammy Houston of East Peoria.
Cremation rites have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A celebration of life will be held on a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions in honor of Andrew be directed to his family to assist with the funeral expenses.
