

Born October 26, 1931 in Licking, MO to Leslie A. and Charlcie (Adkison) Randall, she married John P. Friedrich on May 25, 1952 in Licking, MO. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2002 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Surviving are three sons, J.R. (Dede) Friedrich of Germantown Hills and grandchildren A.J., Jack, and Mallory; James (Colleen) Friedrich of Salem, OR and grandchildren Kellen and Shealyn; Stephen (Sharon) Friedrich of Green Valley and grandchildren Nicholas, Amber, and April and her great grandchildren Ryan, Adam, and Matthew; one daughter, Mary Ann (Steve) Hackbarth of Baraboo, WI and grandchildren Joshua, Anne, and Jacob; two sisters-in-law Mary Kay Lutz of Pekin and Margaret Trinklein of Downers Grove; two step sisters, Joyce McCarthy and Susan Landers, both of Missouri and one step brother, Bruce Randall of Alaska.
She was a devoted member of St. John’s (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley. Anita was the co-leader of the Prayer Chain and active in the choir, Hannah Guild, Epiphany Society, Dorcas Society, and the Evangelism Committee. She had been a past treasurer of the congregation and a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a volunteer at Ewe’s Treasures in Pekin. She was also passionate about her many card clubs and all her dear friends there.
Anita had a strong belief and trust in God and his promises. She felt blessed in her life and rich beyond measure in the things that truly matter. She showed God’s love most passionately through her devotion to family and friends. As a wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, congregation member, card player, and friend, she drew great joy from all the wonderful people who touched her life though the years. She worked each and every day to return that joy to those around her.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2014 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley. Pastor Kevin Bueltmann, Pastor Elliott Lutz and William Krueger, DCE will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin and also from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be at Sand Prairie Cemetery in rural Green Valley.
