Born December 11, 1921 in Chicago to Jacob and Bessie (Lubinsky) Ram, she married Phillip Goldberg on June 18, 1943 in Chicago. He died October 12, 2007 in Tucson. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mary Guralnick, Sybil Handler and Jennie Levin and one granddaughter-in-law, Veronica Pelozo-Goldberg.
Surviving are her daughter, Judy Casey of Pekin; her son, Jay (Peggy) Goldberg of Pekin; four grandchildren, Joel (Dawn) Jackson, Ian Goldberg, Arlan Goldberg and Sarah Barnard and three great-grandchildren, Triston Jackson, Hayden Jackson and Pacie Anne Barnard. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
As a young woman, Anne and her twin sister, Mary, loved to dance and had the opportunity to dance at the Chicago World’s Fair. Upon moving to Pekin, in 1955, she and Phil opened Youngland’s, a clothing store for young girls and boys in downtown Pekin. She later became the lead buyer for Bergner’s Department Stores in the infant and children’s departments. Later retiring to Tucson, Arizona, she and Phil enjoyed living there for over twenty years. They also enjoyed traveling and especially being with her family.
Private family services will be held with burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson, Arizona. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
