PEKIN ~ Arthur Edward Cohenour, 86, of 1419 Bellaire Avenue, passed away at 12:10 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 at his home.
Born Feb. 27, 1924 in Pekin to George and Bertha (Gray) Cohenour, he married Joyce Graham on Aug.14, 1965 in East Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Jul.26, 1982; 1 son, Timothy, and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Tina (Gerald) Carter and Debra Fuller, both of Pekin; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Norm Graham of Pekin.
Art worked for Corn Products Corporation in Pekin for many years, retiring as a grain elevator operator in 1981.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He was also a shade tree car mechanic and a Chicago Cubs baseball fan.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in rural Mapleton.
