

MORTON ~ Arthur T. "Art" Fleming of 318 Willow Oak, formerly of Creve Coeur for more than fifty years, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2007 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center Emergency Room in Peoria.
Born January 20, 1920 to Arch T. and Rhoda (Gore) Fleming outside of East Prairie, MO, he married Grace E. Fugate on June 27, 1942 in East Prairie, MO. She survives of Morton.
Also surviving are two sons, Dennis C. (Pamela) Fleming of Princeville and Gary R. (Evelyn) Fleming of Blaine, KS; one daughter, Gina K. Fleming of Creve Coeur; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one sister, Opal Greer of Lake St. Louis, MO. His parents, two brothers, one sister, and one son, Ronald A. Fleming, preceded him in death.
Art was a supervisor at Caterpillar for 38 years, retiring in 1982.
He enjoyed gardening and working outside in the yard.
He was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Creve Coeur, where he formerly served as Deacon and Trustee. He was also a member of the Frank N. Nicol Masonic Lodge in Creve Coeur, and the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria. In addition, he was past Vice President of Fort Creve Coeur, served three terms from 1969 to 1981 for a total of twelve years on the Creve Coeur Village Board, was on the Creve Coeur Police Commission in 1994, and served on the Creve Coeur Street Commission.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel with the Rev. Donald Zumwalt officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to the Creve Coeur Rescue Squad, 101 N. Thorncrest Avenue, Creve Coeur, IL 61610.
