

Born May 10, 1928 in Peoria to Agostino and Giuseppino (Canducci) Gingotti, he married Concetta "Tina" Sanguedolce on July 23, 1960. She died on November 16, 2019 in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by his parents and a half-sister, Vera Beyrne.
Surviving are one brother, Alfred "Al" Gingotti of Pekin; a cousin, Craig (Judy) Barrick of Pekin; two sisters-in-law, Rita Burgener and Maria (Domenico) Iannucci, both of Pekin and several nieces and nephews.
Junior worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 42 years as a tool maker before retiring.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed fishing trips with his wife and going to dances with her at the Pekin Elks Lodge. Junior was a longtime member of the Italian American Club in Peoria and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
His funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the Mass at the church on Friday. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
