

PEKIN ~ Barbara Alice Nimmo, 90, of Pekin, passed away at 7:54 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Pekin Hospital.
Born November 15, 1924 in North Bend, Ohio to George Adam and Alice Barbara (Hall) Emerson, she married Charles Albert Nimmo on July 26, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He died November 7, 2011 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by two great-grandsons, Maddy and Hudson Nimmo and five brothers and sisters.
Surviving are five sons, John A. (Lori)Nimmo of rural Manito, William A. “Bill” (Edie) Nimmo of Chillicothe, Thomas A. (Ella) Nimmo of Germany, Douglas A. (Patricia) Nimmo and Bruce A. (Janet) Nimmo both of Pekin; thirteen grandchildren, Trevor, Natalie, Jessica, Angelique, Ryan, Douglas, Jenny, Christina, Benji, Jeremy, Katie, Nils and Jasper; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lona D. “Billie” Stadtlander of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Barb was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Pekin, where she had previously served as an Elder and a Deacon.
She had worked at Hank’s Hardware in Pekin as a clerk for nine years, retiring in 1988.
Her memorial service will be at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at First United Presbyterian Church in Pekin. The Rev. Charles Cunningham and David Taylor will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
