

Born March 22, 1932 in Peoria to Eloy and Alice (Walraven) Duran, she married William H. Beard on April 10, 1950 in Elmwood.
Surviving are her husband; 1 daughter, Belinda Brown of Metamora; 3 sons, Britt (Kimberly) Beard of Metamora, William E. (Brenda) Beard of East Peoria, and Bruce (Lynn) Beard of Creve Coeur; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Jerry (Carol) Duran of East Peoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Eloy Duran, Jr. and Donald Duran.
Betty owned and operated United Martial Arts in Creve Coeur from 1990 to 2000. Previously, she had worked at the Dolly Madison store in Creve Coeur for 12 years and also at Foster-Gallagher in Peoria and Peoria Plastics.
She was a member of Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur.
Betty enjoyed doing ceramic work.
She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Monday, August 27, 2007at Sacre Coeur Catholic Church. Father Attilio Morelli will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel, with a Christian wake service at 5.pm. Additional visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at the church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.
