Betty J Craggs

Born August 14, 1939 in Sparland to Marvin R. and Bertha E. Heneger Smith, she married Robert E. Craggs.

Surviving are one daughter, Vicki J. Brown of Peoria; four grandchildren, Randi (Cody) Clements and Michael Bailey, both of Carpenteria, California, and Alysse Reynolds and Marissa Reynolds, both of Bartonville; five brothers, Lloyd Smith of Culver City, California, Robert (Jan) Smith of Canton, James Smith of Wyoming, Illinois, William (Kumiko) Smith of Spokane, Washington, and George (Marie) Smith of Youngstown, Florida; three sisters, Marian (Harry) Crull of Chillicothe, Shirley (Bobby) McBride of McMinnville, Tennessee, and Connie Smith of Chillicothe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Randy Craggs in 1995; and one sister, Darlene Ruth Smith.

Betty had been employed by Boeker Pre-Need Services of Springfield, Illinois for the past three years and Trust 100 for the previous four years, working as a certified pre-planning consultant at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes in Pekin and Creve Coeur. Previously, she had worked for Bankers Life and Casualty Insurance Company, Cohen's Furniture Company, and UFS, all of Peoria.

Betty's greatest joy in life were her grandchildren.

Her funeral will be at1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2006at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate.Burial will be in Kingston Mines Cemetery in Kingston Mines.
