

PEKIN ~ Betty June Hoyle, 79, of Morton Terrace Care Center in Morton, passed away at 9:07 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center Emergency Room in Peoria. She was formerly of 1527 South 5th Street and 230 Court Street, both in Pekin.
Born October 16, 1928 in Haskell, Oklahoma to Claud Seaburn and Mary M. (Foster) Vaught, she married Bennie Louis Hoyle on February 18, 1946 in Haskell, Oklahoma. He died October 26, 1996 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter (Carolyn Jo "Cookie" Marshall), one sister (Eva Lena Vaught), and two brothers (Robert Lee Vaught and Clyde Vaught).
Surviving are one daughter, Kay (Edward) Steenbergen of Pekin; four grandchildren, Michael (Wendy) Steenbergen of South Pekin, Daron (Kelly) Steenbergen of Trenton, Amy (Alan) Fusselman and Samatha Maloney, both of Mackinaw; seven great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Samuel "Frank" (Marg) Marshall of Mackinaw.
Betty worked for American Distilling Company in Pekin for 32 years, working on the bottling line, label room, and last in the job order department. She then worked in the snack bar at Pekin Hospital for 5 years and later as a cook at Garden Court Restaurant at Pekin Hospital for 4 years, last working in 1989.
Betty was an avid reader.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in Mackinaw Township Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
