Billy R Nix

CREVE COEUR ~ Billy R. Nix, 83 of Creve Coeur passed away at 1:06 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born August 23, 1928 in Huntsville, AL, he married Roxie Carnell.  She survives.  He is also survived by many brothers and sisters.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and some brothers.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during WWII.

Billy owned and operated the Phillips 66 service station in Creve Coeur.

A woodworker, he enjoyed building bird houses and doing carpentry work.  He loved to garden and he liked to fish, hunt and camp.

His funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur where visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.  Military honors will be provided by the Military Funeral Honors Team of Illinois.
