

Born May 20, 1930 in Batesville, Arkansas to Russell and Edith (Parmer) Lovell, he married Geneva M. Penn on July 31, 1948 in Batesville, Arkansas. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Brenda L. Kettle and Carol E. (Mike) Stanard, both of Pekin; five grandchildren, Cynthia D. Tjarks, David A. Parmelee, Danielle L. Kettle, and Jeffrey L. Stanard, all of Pekin, and Sara M. Stanard of Berwyn; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim (Sylvia) Lovell of Batesville, Arkansas; four nephews; and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren; and one half-brother.
He had served in the Arkansas National Guard.
In 1951, Bob began working at Caterpillar, Inc., and retired in 1984 from machine repair at the Mossville plant.
He was a member of the Church of God in Bloomington.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He loved his birds and feeding them, took great pride in his yard, had the green thumb of the family, and had the most beautiful flowers. He had a great love for his family.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. The Rev. Ken Svehla will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
